Road Runner (My Light Blue Denim Leisure Suit)

Back through the years I go wandering once again

Back to the seasons of my youth

I recall a roll of blue denim grandpa gave us

And how my mamma put that denim to use

It was blue and light in colour, and she had to use it all

And I needed a brand new suit for my school pictures later that fall

Mamma sewed three suits together, sewing every piece with love

She made one for me and my older brother and one more for my dad.

As she sewed she told the story about a dream she once had

About a 'Sears' family picture where everybody's cloths were matched

Perhaps this suit will bring you good luck and lots of friends

And I just couldn't wait to wear it 'cause mamma blessed it with a kiss

My light blue denim leisure suit that my mamma made for me

For I was right in style the year was nineteen seventy three
          D                            G 
Although it didn't cost much money, it fit me perfectly
          D                                A             D 
It was my light blue denim leisure suit my mamma made for me
