THE GAL WHO INVENTED KISSING ***

  ( G ) I love a gal who invented kissing I don't recall her ( D7 ) name

  But I do believe that gal should sit high up in the hall of  ( G ) fame

  Un-til she came  ( G7 ) along just think  ( C ) what we were missing

That's why today I'm ( G ) shouting hooray for the gal  ( D7 ) who invented ( G ) kissing

 She taught the fellows how to smooch instead of holding  ( D7 ) hands

And she showed them how to steel a kiss like they do in foreign  ( G ) Lands

Until she came ( G7 ) along just think  ( C ) what they were missing

 Love was very nice but as ( G ) cold as ice to that gal ( D7 ) who invented ( G ) kissing

 She showed the girls how pucker up and roll their pretty ( D7 ) eyes

 And she showed them how to kiss hello and how to kiss  ( G ) goodbye

Until she came ( G7 ) along just think ( C ) what they were missing

They could only cook or ( G ) read a book till that  ( D7 ) gal who invented  ( G ) kissing

Mr. Edison he invented the lights  Mr. Bell the tele( D7 ) phone

 And Columbus found America their names are all well ( G ) known

But till she came ( G7 ) along this ( C ) world had something missing

And I'm telling you there was ( G ) nothing to do till that ( D7 ) gal invented ( G ) kissing

 She patented the kiss of fire and how to kiss goo( D7 ) dnight

 On every kind of hug and kiss she holds a copy ( G ) right

But if I had my ( G7 )  way the ( C ) only thing I'm wishing

Is to make a date and ( G ) stay out late with the gal ( D7 ) who invented  ( G ) kissing
