 A Very Lucky Man


During this past year I experienced a bit of hell. 
Nine months in the hospital,  I wasn't very well. 
Soar shoulder, failing kidneys and infection of the blood. 
The next thing I knew I was going home with a stub.


But I am a very lucky man, 
I've been given what's called a second chance. 
I don't claim to be religious and may never understand, 
Was I just lucky or received a helping hand. 


I though it was all over and I'd start again, 
But a major heart attack put me on a life support machine. 
They thought my life was over when they pulled the plug. 
I think he had other plans and gave me his love. 


But I am a very lucky man, 
I've been given what's called a second chance. 
I don't claim to be religious and may never understand, 
Was I just lucky or received a helping hand. 


I was released from the hospital so I could go home. 
It's been almost a year now,  where as the time gone. 
I still play and sing my songs for some people I know, 
But when its time to leave this world,  I'm prepared to go. 


But I am a very lucky man,
