Life Isn't Easy 



We enter this world naked and scared, 
Our eyes not quite focused,  strange sounds in our ears.
Someone holds you upside down and slaps your behind, 
Trying to make you cry to determine if you're fine. 


Life isn't easy and may not seem fair.
Your family will love you but others may not care. 
As you go through this life, the road may seem long. 
So if you plan to survive, you'll have to be strong. 


As you get older and start to go to school, 
You'll find that some kids can be so cruel. 
Saying things that may hurt your pride, 
They do it because it makes them feel good inside. 


Life isn't easy and may not seem fair.
Your family will love you but others may not care. 
As you go through this life, the road may seem long. 
So if you plan to survive, you'll have to be strong.


You've grown older and have yourself a job, 
Got married, have children with a new sense of pride. 
You're forever paying bills, trying to make ends meet, 
Doing your best to stand on your feet. 


Life isn't easy and may not seem fair.
Your family will love you but others may not care. 
As you go through this life, the road may seem long. 
So if you plan to survive, you'll have to be strong.


Now that you're older,  70 years plus, 
Life is a little easier for the both of us. 
You may wake up with more aches and  pains, 
It means you have another day to do it all again. 


Life isn't easy and may not seem fair.
Your family will love you but others may not care. 
You've gone through this life and the road is long. 
But it only means  that you have become very strong.  
Yes,  it only means that our lives go on.
