I'm sitting here in this chair trying to write a song,
But all the words that come to mind seem to be all wrong.
They say that for good writers the words just seem to flow.
For people like Kristofferson but not for George Rowe.

I'm an amateur musician who likes to play and sing,
But every once in a while a new song I like to bring.
My songs are plain and simple and will never be a hit,
But when I'm with all my friends the words just seem to fit.

If you want to hear a great song turn on the radio,
Or spend some money on a concert and sit in the front row.
But to all you good old boys, the ones that I call friends,
Please bear with me cause here I go again.
